modern premises. Features include an informal
atmosphere and personal attention. Restaurant
facilities are available in some guesthouses.
Guesthouses are classified under a similar star
classification to hotels.
Self Catering: Self Catering offers a homely base
to explore Clonmel and the surrounding areas at
your own pace and is often the preferred option
for groups or families. A variety of premises are
available in urban and rural areas, ranging from
modern bungalows and two storey houses to old
coverted houses.
Bed & Breakfast: This category of accommodation
covers a variety of houses in urban and rural areas,
ranging from the modern bungalow or two-storey
house to the larger period style residence; the
main attraction is their homely atmosphere and
the opportunity to meet new people in their own
homes.
Farmhouse: Includes old style, period type and
modern farmhouses; the type of farming varies
– mixed, tillage, dairy, sheep and poultry – all of
interest to visitors, particularly if they are from
the city.
