Clonmel and South Tipperary is an area with a long held passion for cycling.  Legendary cyclist Sean Kelly hails from near neighbour Carrick on Suir and his successes and those of others have prompted a myriad of locals to take up the hobby.

As a result there is much to do in Clonmel and its environs for cyclists.  Mountain bikers can enjoy the trails through local forests and hills whilst those preferring to stay on the road can take in the beautiful scenery all around them.

Discover Clonmel 2010 has chosen five routes to suit both the leisurely cyclist and the enthusiast.

1.       Clonmel – Kilsheelan – Carrick on Suir – Fiddown; return  south bank of River Suir – Carrick on Suir – Clonmel (42 miles/67km)

2.       Clonmel – Clogheen – Cahir – Clonmel (34 miles/54 km)

3.       Clonmel – Cappoquin – Lismore – Clogheen – Ardfinnan – Clonmel (56 miles/89km)

4.       Clonmel – Nine Mile House – Mullinahone – Cloneen – Fethard – Clonmel (37 miles/59km)
